When I was in Kindergarten, my parents gave me a 110 camera which began my love of documenting the world around me as an autobiographical practice. A native Chicagoan, my interests lie in the intersection of the natural world and human structures - how they interact, or don't. I am drawn to colors - especially shades of water - the beauty of nature and how people create beauty, from the glazed terra cotta facades of a Chicago architect or pebbles in sand ripples on the beach. People themselves rarely feature in my work; it's more about our imprint that remains. Whether in my hometown or elsewhere in the world, I am drawn to unique details of a place, especially those which speak to the experience of living at this particular time in history.Â
